RACV RESORT AT CAPE SCHANCK
A few months ago I was assigned the hard task, to model the new RACV Cape Schanck Resort, promotional video. The role? To enjoy myself at the resort with spa days, buffet breakfast, coastal walks, winery visits and 3 course meals. With a bubble bath in my room to end the day. Hard days work if you ask me.
When RACV asked me to come back and stay for realz as an actual guest, I said FINE. Then booking immediately.
This time round, I got to bring Aaron along and together we OOH'd and AAh'd at the brand spanking new fit out. We checked into our fabulous new room, with a little view of the ocean and headed straight to the bed. Can confirm, very comfortable. AND they have a pillow menu available to select your most perfect pillow, amazing.
After a little afternoon nap (because we were in for a reallllly hard day...), we headed down to the One Spa for some more relaxation. The Hammam Room was seriously the most perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Laying about in the "Relaxation Room" with some tea and that soothing massage music. Followed by a steam room session and hanging out in the heated spas.
Later, wandering around the resort we checked out some of the other facilities that included a massive gym full of all the equipment you need, huge lap pool, outdoor playground, cafe, golf shop and of course the golf course.
We saved ourselves for the fancy dinner later on at Cape. When I was working here last time, the food that I had at Cape was honestly a highlight, so I was very excited to dine in again! Being a vegetarian, I was surprised at the great options they had on offer. I find it can be hard sometimes at fine dining restaurants, to get some great veg options but Cape did not disappoint. The stand out for us was of course the desserts. I'm more of a savoury kinda girl, so desserts for me are a real treat. The layers of chocolate, coffee and hazelnut all perfectly spread on the dish, it was almost too pretty to eat.
The next day the sun was shining, so we headed out for a morning walk around the Cape Schanck Lighthouse. Only a 10 minute drive from the resort. This is a spot I used to come down to all the time when I lived on the Peninsula and it's still amazing every time. The lighthouse is so perfect and pretty and the views are even better. On either side you can see views of Flinders all the way to Portsea. Also, if you're keen to get outdoors and love bush walks. Bushrangers Bay walk in Flinders is another goodie worth checking out!
Just before we checked out, we had been saving our bellies for the buffet breakfast. Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, so give me a buffet and I kind of lose my mind. Everything you would want from yoghurts, to smoothies, to pastries, to eggs and all the trimmings. Pancakes, cheese plater items?? (I'll allow it), teas, coffee, everything you would want out of a buffet breakfast. They had it.
The RACV Cape Schanck resort was honestly the most perfect little weekend escape. Melbourne often gets a bad wrap in winter for being gloomy, miserable and damn cold. If you get the chance, a little mid-week, weekend or just any time escape down the Mornington Peninsula is the perfect solution, when you simply cannot afford that 5 week Europe trip. We were so lucky that the weather gods answered our prayers and we got some solid sunshine during out stay. It felt good to be home, I forgot how beautiful the Mornington Peninsula really is.
Finally, if you've made it this far through the blog post. You're a bloody legend. And for that, you get a special code to use if you want to book in at the resort. Just click here and use 'MEDIA' at the checkout for a little discount.
